Choosing DVDs Over VHS Tapes

Written on January 25, 2019   By   in Computer and Technology

Modern technology has allowed much of the bulk associated with watching movies to be removed. This is because DVDs are a lot lighter, and can store more in a single disk compared to what can be stored inside an average VHS tape. There also is a world of difference between the two types, with VHS being an analog storage, and DVD being a digital one. What are some of the other advantages of DVDs over VHS? Let’s find them out below.

Saves Time

One of the best things about having a DVD is that it copies at a fast pace compared to VHS. This makes it very easy to spread content using DVDs. It’s a very time saving act which is the reason why its popularity rapidly spread throughout the world. You can even make as many copies as you’d want without having to worry about losing its quality. And yes, they are rewriteable and can be used over and over again. It sure saves money too.

Stunning Layouts

Another reason why DVDs are better compared to VHS is their stunning layouts. They have aesthetically pleasing menus that you can easily change with just a few clicks. This differentiates scenes and lets you start or play a movie at the specific spot you want just what you see with Windows DVD player. You can’t do this with VHS because of its dated technology. VHS also blurs in quality, which becomes a huge problem especially if you’ve been using it for years.

Affordable

There are a lot of affordable DVDs out there, and much cheaper than VHS. Although it might cost you a bit more, it will save you more in the long run because you don’t have to worry about any maintenance repairs. Sometimes, buying a new DVD player altogether comes at a cheaper cost than having these VCR parts purchased individually and repaired.
